The WORK WIT-JAX Introductions to TRADES program's primary purpose will be to provide cost free employability training to disenfranchised, low-income, impoverished neighborhoods in Jacksonville, Florida that may face barriers to employment and recidivism. Primary target groups will be individuals ages 18 and older
Our Forklift Training Class meets OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards. Our hands on training is great for the beginner and experienced operator. Student receive their certification and wallets card the same day of the training.

Our Training Supervisors are certified NCCER Master Trainers. Our Lead Instructors are OSHA Trained and Authorized to give instructions and provide credentials, certifications and certificates of completion. Our platform also utilizes OSHA/ HAZWOPER in accordance with the Federal OSHA HAZWOPER training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i) for general industry and 29 CFR 1926.65(e)(3)(i) for construction. This course will also meet any HAZWOPER training requirements for the EPA and State OSHA regulations, while providing hands-on. The WIT Industrial Safety Training Program will use NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) standardized industrial training curriculum and assessments with stackable and portable credentials. Our training instructors are recognized by NCCER and empowered to teach NCCER curriculum. All lead trainers are OSHA Authorized Outreach Instructors.
Mr. Coleman is a former U.S. Army Paratrooper, Nuclear Chemical and Biological Specialist. He completed both the JACADS and OSHA programs and received numerous citations for his participation in OPERATION STEELE BOX. As a NBC Specialist he led U.S. troops in the global collection and general recovery, testing and transport of degraded chemical munitions. His specialized training also includes INDT methods (VT ,PT,MT,UT, ET,RT) , Welding technology, SMAW, FCAW,GMAW and thermal cutting processes, which he utilized in the disposal efforts throughout the Pacific Rim. Mr. Coleman also acted as a field training NBC NCO during joint training exercises with Egyptian military forces in Egypt. He served as a HAZMAT/HAZCOM supervisor in the incineration of chemical agents to include: Sahrin Gas (GB) and VX Nerve Agent, while assisting in the destruction of over 400,000 chemical rockets, projectiles, bombs, mortars, ton containers, and mines. Mr. Coleman is a certified NCCER Master Trainer, INDT Level III inspector, a AWS member and is OSHA certified. Mr. Coleman worked as Program Director for CDA Technical Institute and administered the (MWP) Maritime Welding Program. He is the Program Training director for the Workforce Industrial Training (WIT) program.
The (WIT) Veterans Outreach Training proudly prepares America’s veterans, service members for meaningful careers in the industrial industry, We provide them with OSHA , NCCER and HAZWOPER training to promote their employment opportunities.
Many of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) regulations explicitly require the employer to train employees in the safety and health aspects of their jobs. Other OSHA standards make it the employer’s responsibility to limit certain job assignments to employees who are "certified," "competent," or "qualified"—meaning that they have had special previous training, in or out of the workplace. This year’s meeting consisted of large- and small-group sessions on topics related to building and sustaining a successful environmental job training program. Small-group sessions began with EPA-funded EWDJT grantees giving an overview of their program as it related to the discussion topic. New this year was a panel of five EWDJT program graduates who told everyone what their lives were like before, during, and after receiving training.
